Automotive Care is your #1 Resource for Your Oil Changes!
Most automotive experts recommend changing your engine's oil and oil filter at least every 3 months or 3,000 miles, which ever comes first. This is the best way to maximize engine protection and minimize common problems. John's Automotive Care ASE Certified Technicians are Oil experts!
A lot of people aren't sure what kind of oil their vehicle uses. To make sure your vehicle has the right oil there are several questions that should be answered. Do you drive mostly stop-and-go or freeway? What is the weather like where you drive, extreme hot or cold? How many miles are on your vehicle, low or high mileage?
Motor oil lubricates the car engine keeping it running nice and smooth. Using the correct oil in your car can make your engine last years longer, but using the wrong oil can leave you stranded should your car break down on the side of the road. When your engine is driven stop-and-go, where it just gets to optimum temperature and then sits too cool off again, a different grade of oil is better than the grade that is used for the constant engine heat of driving long distances down a freeway.
If you drive in extreme weather conditions, you might try using synthetic oil over a petroleum based product as it will perform better. This is for when it is very hot or very cold outside or other rough driving conditions. It costs a little more but can be beneficial when driving in extreme conditions.
There are significant differences in motor oils and choosing the right one most definitely can have a major impact on how well your car runs. When the right oil is selected for your car, it is often the most effective way to improve your car's performance. You can be sure that our ASE Certified Technicians at John's Automotive Care can help you with the best oil for your vehicle and with checking other fluids in your car or truck as well.
